Rooflight Cover Inspection
Eurosafe undertakes the inspection of rooflight covers and fragile roof fall protection covers following the guidelines of PUWER legislation.
We provide a compliance-based inspection service as part of a Periodic Inspection regime / Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) for rooflight covers and fragile roof fall protection covers such as the MSA Latchways WalkSafe system which is designed as a form of collective protection.
The rooflight covers and fragile roof fall protection covers are classed as pieces of work equipment and require regular inspection under The Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER). This can take the form of a regular visual inspection carried out by a competent person. In the event that an independent third party is required to undertake this inspection. Eurosafe can take on the role of the competent person.
PUWER regulation 6 specifies the circumstances where inspection is required to ensure healthy and safe conditions are maintained: one circumstance identified is… where work equipment is exposed to conditions causing deterioration liable to result in dangerous situations. Given the rooflight/fragile surface covers are typically located on a rooftop and serve to protect users from a fall hazard - it most certainly requires a regular planned inspection.
Eurosafe can offer an inspection service for your rooflight covers and fragile roof fall protection covers, and implement it as part of a schedule of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
