The Client
The Lumen is a state-of-the-art commercial office development located within the Newcastle Helix innovation district - a hub for science, technology and business.
The Requirements
To deliver a safe and efficient façade access solution to support:
Routine window cleaning and external maintenance
Full façade access across the building envelope
Glazing replacement operations requiring additional lifting capability
The Solution
Working in collaboration with our partner GPBMU Eurosafe delivered a bespoke façade access system utilising the GPI Building Maintenance Unit (BMU).
The system provides safe, reliable two-person access to all areas of the façade, enabling efficient cleaning and maintenance operations. In addition, the BMU is equipped with an integrated auxiliary hoist with a 500 kg lifting capacity, allowing for controlled and effective glazing replacement without the need for additional lifting equipment.
